Strong Testimony of Ayuno
¡Hola!
This week has been super super super super super bien! The first thing is sí o sí we are going to have a baptism this upcoming weekend. Nicolas is getting baptized!!!!! We have been super nervouse because he doesn't actually live within the ward boundaries, but has been coming to church with his girlfriend in our ward for almost 3 months. We talked with the Obispo (bishop) and he said that Nicolas could be bapitzed in our ward, Bilbao, but with time, he has to transfer to his own ward Gomez-Careño. Nicolas was was very nervous about this, but we encouraged him to visit Gomez-Careño this past Sunday, and to fast to know what God wants for him. Hermana Karjalainen and I decided to fast with him as well. Heavenly father really is a God of Milagros (Miracles) because right before church started, we got a call from Nicolas. He said that he loved the Gomez-Careño ward and was ready to be baptized this Saturday, and then change his papers to the other ward. I don't think I have ever had such a strong testimony of ayuno (fasting). It really is a way for us to show our dedication to God, and a way to receive more blessings than we could ever imagine.
Another thing that was really cool this week was we have an investigator who is very Evangelica, and does not think that she needs to be baptized again, or if the restoration is true, but the other day, we taught 1 Nephi 8 about the tree of life. She said that many years ago, she had a dream about the tree of life. She was walking towards a tree with fruit and Satan was behind the tree, but as soon as she ate the fruit, he left. Now she has a testimony of the book of mormon and wants to be baptized! All she has to do now is come to church :)
It was also the Birthday of Hermana Báez this week. We had gone to the Mall to eat lunch last monday and she told us that she wanted a barbie doll. So all the hermanas pitched in and we decided to get her a barbie for her birthday... except we made a couple changes and now she's barbie the sister missionary.
Love and miss you all so much and don't forget to look for miracles...they are always there.

After being in Chile for 10 weeks we finally found time to eat completos. Completos are like hot dogs but better. they have tomatoes and palta and mayonesa. They are also gigantic.
We love complettos! My daughter , Jacqueline, who served in Concepcion, made complettos for a ward activity in her California ward that included international foods.
ReplyDeleteHow fun.
